   Well damn.  You just dropped five grand on getting your life raft serviced, needed 18 new CO2 harnesses, a new sat phone, a few Epirbs, and a second anchor chain because the safety requirements for this race required it.  How dare they?!  And all new sanitation hoses because your previous ones were leaking black tank matter into the bilge- West Marine charged you retail value!  The nerve!  After all of this, why should you pay full price for proper attire for your crew?!  The employees of said establishment certainly can afford to give away their time and their products in order to forward your (completely not charitable in any way) hobby!

Oh, you want new sails?  Here, let me just make you them for free.  Because I have an 11 month old at home who needs food and medicine and clothes, and leaving him to work pro bono is truly one of my greatest passions above all else.  Here, give me those lines to whip while we're talking.
